TakingITGlobal impacts the lives of young people world-wide by enabling them, through inspiration, learning and action. With your support, we encourage them to get involved in their local and global communities through unique learning experiences and pathways to meaningful action.
Inspiration
TakingITGlobal inspires members through the sharing of stories: by providing a customized space for young people to connect and share their experiences, knowledge, ideas and emotions. Members participate in an intercultural exchange unique to this online community. Through the online resources, they access a vast number of learning opportunities. As a result, they gain a sense of belonging and increased confidence in their abilities. Their worldviews and their perspectives on what they can contribute both expand. A greater sense of civic responsibility is instilled, leading to more youth-led initiatives. All of this coalesces into greater hope for our future.
Information
Through TakingITGlobal, members develop awareness of different cultures, perspectives and global challenges. They learn the value of information technology as a tool for overcoming these challenges, to interact, bridge divides and gain communication and coordination skills. Most importantly, they realize their potential as agents of positive change.
Involvement
As a result of their involvement with TakingITGlobal, members take action in a variety of ways. They initiate and participate in projects, organizations, events and groups. Through these peer-led activities, members connect with other young people and decision-makers, building a movement of youth committed to creating positive change.
