Defining Moments: Discovering Our Canadian Stories

From 2010 to 2013, Defining Moments engaged youth across Canada in addressing the question "how do you shape Canada? How does Canada shape you?" Defining Moments: Discovering Our Canadian Stories is an online collection and travelling exhibit of artwork created by youth aged 13 to 30. Each piece expresses the artist's identity and experiences living in Canada. Contest winners were selected and announced on Canada Day 2012 and made up the Travelling Exhibit, which appeared in locations across the country.

Between 2010 and 2011, TakingITGlobal partnered with youth organizations to successfully deliver the Adobe Youth Voices program to young people in Brazil, Egypt, India, Mexico, Nepal, and South Africa. Over 1,000 young people engaged in a critical exploration of local and global issues.

Global Youth Culture: The Voices of Youth

As part of the "Youth for Change" program, in 2009 TakingITGlobal collaborated with Bibliotheca Alexandrina to launch a writing and art contest with the theme "Global Youth Culture".This project aims at encouraging cross-cultural dialogue and supporting youth led projects in 14 priority countries: Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria and Sudan.

In 2007 and 2008 TakingITGlobal, as part of the Adobe Youth Voices initiative, asked youth all over the world to respond creatively to two pressing issues: 'Climate Change' and 'Cultural Conflict'. Workshops held in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, China, Egypt, Kenya, Mali, Russia, South Africa, and Sweden allowed youth to create their responses using digital image software, while the TakingITGlobal online Global Gallery allowed our international membership to become involved and submit their own artwork.
