Sign up with TIG: First, you must become a TIG member. If you are already a TIG member, you will be asked to login to the site and will move on to Step 2. If not, you will be asked to complete the simple registration process for TakingITGlobal.org.
Search schools: The second step involves finding your school in our database of schools. If your school has already been set up with TIGed, you will skip to Step 4. If not, you can set it up!
Create a school or register: Here, you'll be asked for some basic information about your school. The first teacher to set up a school will be its administrator, and will receive requests for the "school signup code" from other teachers who are interested in joining. Once you have set up your school, you will be able to transfer administrator status to another individual if necessary.
Payment: Finally, you will be asked to complete the payment process. Details on the various payment options are available below.
Celebrate: Congratulations! You have successfully signed up for TIGed. You will be issued a receipt/invoice from TakingITGlobal at this point, depending on the method of payment chosen.

Registration Process
Ready to try TIGed? There are five steps in this process. You can keep track of your progress using the the registration process outline at the top of this page. The steps are:
  1. Sign up with TIG: First, you must become a TIG member. If you are already a TIG member, you will be asked to login to the site and will move on to Step 2. If not, you will be asked to complete the simple registration process for TakingITGlobal.org.

  2. Search schools: The second step involves finding your school in our database of schools. If your school has already been set up with TIGed, you will skip to Step 4. If not, you can set it up!

  3. Create a school or register: Here, you'll be asked for some basic information about your school. The first teacher to set up a school will be its administrator, and will receive requests for the "school signup code" from other teachers who are interested in joining. Once you have set up your school, you will be able to transfer administrator status to another individual if necessary.

    You will also set up some basic preferences, including the screen name you will use when interacting with students.

  4. Payment: Finally, you will be asked to complete the payment process. Details on the various payment options are available below. If you have received a promotional code at a conference or presentation, you will be asked to enter it here.

  5. Celebrate: Congratulations! You have successfully signed up for TIGed. You will be issued a receipt/invoice from TakingITGlobal at this point, depending on the method of payment chosen.
Once you have completed all the steps above, you will receive a confirmation e-mail and will have full access to your TIGed school.
 
Student Registration
Will my students have to follow all these steps?
No. When you create a TIGed virtual classroom, you will be given a link to a student signup page. Here, all your students will need to enter is the classroom signup code (which you provide), and some basic information. For information on how TIGed protects student privacy, please visit our FAQ.
 
Payment Options
There are three different types of licenses on TIGed.
  1. Individual teacher account - $30 US/Canadian per year.
  2. Small school account (15 transferable teacher licenses) - $195 US/Canadian per year.
  3. Large school account (75 transferable teacher licenses) - $495 US/Canadian per year.
For board or district-wide, regional, or non-OECD discounts, please contact education@takingitglobal.org

Payment can be made online using a major credit card or Paypal account. You can also choose to pay by cheque or receive an invoice, which will be presented at the final step of the signup process. Those paying by cheque or invoice will have limited access to their account until full payment has been received. For more information, please contact education@takingitglobal.org

What if I received a promotional code at a conference or presentation?
If you have received a promotional code from a TakingITGlobal staff member, please enter it when prompted during Step 4 (Payment) of the registration process. Keep in mind that codes are generally only valid for accounts created within two weeks of the presentation.
